Ignorance Is Bliss

High above the heavens high
The questions why
The pie in the sky
There’s a man
Who has a plan
For all of us
Yes, you and I
But what of those poor lost souls
How can we teach them some values and goals?
The wretched and the meek
Have no need to speak
They inherit the earth

And trips to mars
And oceans of liquor in bars

To everything
He knows who you are
So what of those left behind?
You’ll be raptured right up through that hole in the sky
They’ve been digging it for years
With murder and fear
An empty hollow rage
To rattle your cage

Forgive them lord
They don’t know they just can’t understand

I know you seem glad
