He told me I had purpose so I took that as my Que to go
The lying had to stop — the cheating had to stop
Had to get my life in order so the drinking had to stop
The road to recovery is a long one
And I can relate because I’m on one
Don’t hesitate to put your life back on track because it won’t be worth it in
the long run
Walking on this path while living a double life
Where some of you has the Christ, the other half wants to die
Somewhere in the middle the drinking’s probably why
Sitting up late at night locked away inside your crying
So get on the road to recovery
When I did I made descoveries
Like how Jesus is really loving me
Don’t hesitate because the road to recovery can be so so long
Nobody wants to be on the corner of happiness and hell
I had to break free from the bondage that had me so I’m out of my shell
Broken porcelain mask, No more masquerade
Had to stay true to myself and Jesus emancipate me
Never felt so good as when I’m drinking from your well
Contemplating death — Kept thinking about the outcome
Take a shot — can I make it thought life without one?
Couldn’t live with myself, couldn’t live without hell
I felt alone — these ashes were all I had left
So get on the Road to recovery
When I did I made a choice in me
I’m not ashamed of who I used to be
I’m not the puppet the world wants me to be because they’re so so Wronng
I may not be where I want to be
But I’m not where I used to be
You and me, we fit together so beautifuly
As you can see I’m nothing without you
There’s something about you
I love being around you
Your my strength, and my courage to make a change
To better myself and throw all the bottles away
To reach in my life and wrap it around your name
And disregard all the shame 'cause there’s so much grace to gain
You became my path in recovery from my wrong
My self causing destruction, you broke it until its gone
This path to your loving is the strength in all my songs
So this is what its like to have such a loving God
So this is the road to recovery
And it started with you loving me
I love your heart that covers me
I close my eyes and let everybody see that your my God for life long
