Idle Conversation

I’ve said this once, I’ll say it twice
ìcause you don’t realise the thought
that goes into a change like this
'cause we’ve been stuck like this for some time.
A smiling face, a pleasing taste
are not enough to make me stay

I know it’s me that began this idle conversation
but now we’re stuck for things to say
and it’s embarassing for the both of us.
We heed the words of many friends
and try in vain to make amends
but in truth you’ll find it can’t be found
we’ve been loveless now for some time.
There is no change, nothing at all
continue building up these walls
pretend it’s fine but that won’t do
'cause I’ve been stuck with you for some time.
I know it’s me that began this idle conversation
but now we’re stuck for things to say and it’s embarassing
and it is sad, I agree, but you’ve got to understand
my position is nothing you can change
but time will change both of us.
