Ohio Mountains

Ohio Mountains

Been looking for a place, a place that I can call my home
Keep searching around for rockets, all I see are silo domes
Think I’ll take a walk through this town, meet a girl who wants to roam
Better comb my hair and rock it, but all I find are garden gnomes
It’s time to rip up my ground like a Midwest tiller
And not come back till I’m seeing the bigger picture
Then I’ll tell you that I’ve found I’m a caterpillar
And inside this cocoon is my painkiller
These Ohio mountains
They roll like ocean waves
I feel like I’m drowning
In an acquired taste
These Ohio mountains—
I’m starting to grow fond
When I see the fountain
I realize we’re just ripples in the pond
Been looking for a friend to be here by my side
And ride through Ancient Rome, leaving just our dust behind
I wanna see the world as my big playground
In time, I’ll find a slide where I know I can hunker down
Let’s spin that weathervane into a helicopter
Or ride the river in a boat; it’d be a swell propeller
Then I’ll tell you that I’ve found I’m a pig named Wilbur
Rolling in the mud—I'm slick as cherry pie filler
These Ohio mountains
They roll like ocean waves. (Roll like ocean waves)
I feel like I’m drowning
In an acquired taste. (Ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh)
These Ohio mountains—
I’m starting to grow fond (I'm starting to grow fond)
When I see the fountain
I realize we’re just ripples in the pond
