World You Burn

We’re slipping away
Into deep graves
This world decaying
Our flesh betraying
It’s purpose to hold
Our mortal mold
We rip the air from our lungs
At the end of our guns
Push others over
To get what we desire
Forgetting how we were wired
To live for more than to build our empires
And behold the world you burn
It will take your life in turn
Redirect what you have built
Or there will be nothing left
To live in objection
Of perfection
Existing provisionally
Renouncing immortality
Forgetting how fragile
Your life can be
You cling to misdirect
That you are a king
Of the transition
But will never see
Perfection
There’s life after death
And misdirection
What will you carry to the ground
What will you bury to save yourself now
When will you turn?
