The Church

we christians believe that we’re set free
but it seems kind of impossible when the church us judging you and me
we’re like children playing games
and we’re sitting at the table as we’re serving cups of tea
but it’s bitter in my mouth
got no taste to me
I’m getting tired of seeing leaders spreading hate to me
they intimidated
cuz they’re gonna race with me
but I’m on the bench
waitin' patiently
acting like the scribes who were trippin' for no reason
trying to incarcerate Jesus and charge him with treason
what was your original goal
that one thing deep down that we know that gave you meaning
was it not to change lives
to help other people make it by with the garbage that they’re feeling
we say we’re serving God (yeah)
but we’re doing it disgracefully
I pray that we don’t get beaten severely with this rod
cuz this is beginning to shake in me
Man, all this mess is crazy to me
This is crazy to me
We’ve got gossip coming and going
when it shouldn’t be flowing
talking about what she did and what he did
the stones we throwing
