Palmless

How long, put it in my head
I spoke what I never said
My breath has come to
I rose when the first night shows
And knew what I’d never known
My heart, it sounded
Strange what the night has brought
To crave what I’ve tasted
Not my lips, it comes to this
But body and breath and beating tongue
My hands are palmless
There’s news on my half of earth
Broken every word
My voice, it trembles
Touch something I can recognize
Drive me at the moving light
My face resembles
The fools to be given heart
The fools not to make them start
It’s my way that’s shifting
Smiling spending such thought
But we can, how could I not?
