The sun is falling down
Dad comes home from town
Mama makes the meal
The kids help grate and peel
A year of waiting ends
With newly fallen snow

Grandma looks out the window
Her hands are chapped and dry
The last light hits her beauty
A tear escapes her eye
The shadows stretch and lengthen
The sun is hanging low
