I guess its true what Ive always heard
We make ourselves feel better with hurtful words
And more times than I even care to know
We hurt the ones we love the most
Forgiveness is what Im looking for
But you dont owe me anything at all
I’m sorry, It feels like Im stabbing my own back
I cant believe Im drowning in the words I should not own
And so today I take a vow
To never open up my mouth
Against another living soul
Be it friend or be it foe
But is this real
Or empty conviction
Just a good idea
Because Im a Christian
Just to make sure
Ill cut off my tongue
