Years are slipping by,
And still no sign of dawn.
We’ve sailed in constant twilight,
Forgetting moon and sun.
Broken teeth,
Haunted hearts
And weary feet,
Buried us in the deep.
I can see it all.
When I’m sinking.
Over all the seas, past the stars in the sky,
We won’t need our ships to reach glory so bright.
After all is said, after all is done,
We won’t need our ships, our bones, or our blood in Your glory.
Where shadows will no longer be
branded on the hearts of
those who dared to persevere
through death’s deepest dark.
All my pretense falls onto the floor
