From my elbow to my wrist
When those 6th-grade kings
Dared me to jump my Mongoose across that ditch
The mark that’s left of my left eye
Is from a Daisy BB gun
When Tom and Mitchell got tired of shooting cans
So we shot me just for fun

Didn’t run to mom or dad
Friends fought like hell we didn’t tattle-tale

I count my blessings for those lessons
