Chrysocoma

He came to me dappled in sunlight
I bloomed beneath his stare
Patiently, I waited all the night
To be with him again
The whole spring we were never apart
He lay underneath my limbs
He said I had the biggest heart
Won’t you let me crawl right in
And then he whispered through my leaves
Darling, you’re my favourite tree
Won’t you save your love for me
Til I return from the city
And now I’m nothing but a chrysocoma
I cry some mor
Chrysocoma
For love that’s over
And evr year he would return
To read me haiku poetry
I let him hang from my lowest branches
Little daydreamer kicking his feet
Then I grew up my colour is faded
My leaves start falling down
What used to be a waterfall was now
A great big puddle of brown
