The Fence

The fence around my heart is tall and wide,
I see you through the beams,
Beckoning me to climb
And I abilged with splinters in mind

I climb because I need those splinters,
Thin needles in my tough skin,
Days of healing,
Stark reminders that I am alive.

Quite frankly, Im tired of being the only one
Who’s willing to climb for theses splinters
