Counting Sheep

I was born in the sixties but I missed all good drugs
No computers, polyester, plastic and fur rugs
A river of blood from a war that never was.
Chain link fences round a playground hell
Throwing my pennies in a wishing well
And saving all my love for a rainy day
I’m counting sheep but I can’t sleep
There’s so much going on inside my head
If I had a message for the world
I would tell them all drop everything and run
They are masters of deception. They play the game with cool perfection.
They’re only looking down to count their sheep.

Trying to figure out what a modem is
Cyber space junky planning all my trips to nowhere
Got a government job and a house on the hill
Working for the man just to pay my bills
Security, benefits, insurance and a Capital view.
