A Lion In the Jungle

The day is open
The night is closing it’s doors
And somewhere in the jungle,
A lion stretches out and roars
On a dirty street, in a tenement house
A man unwraps himself from a dainty dainty sheet
And he opens his eyes and hates the bright sunrise
Somewhere in the jungle
A man cuts his way through the people and the bush
And the civilized cement

Don’t ask me where I am going
But, after I’m gone
Glad lady, dear lady, wont you tell em

Take off, lock up the door tonight
Keep the sunshine in
While somewhere in the jungle
I listen to the wild go again

And ask the boss man for a clean cut sack
