There’s raccoon’s running down the driveway
The moon’s been playing hide and seek between the window panes
One shimmied the lid off the trash can
And it went a-rolling and a-tumbling to the pavement
He took a head long dive into the garbage
The other hissed: shhhhh, somebody’s comin'
There’s rock n' roll playing on the tape deck
She told her husband she was going for some cigarettes
You know a woman like that ain’t hard to crack
Just takes a little bit of wine and the seats are laid back
She hears a car drive by and circle round

There’s always footsteps coming down the hall
Headlights on the gravel or a creak in the door
You better tip-toe when you’re coming down the stairs
Hold your breath and say a prayer
There’s bass pounding through the bathroom wall
And he’s standing in a stall with a rubber jaw
He’s knows there’s no such thing as a cheap thrill
As he rolls up his last five dollar bill
Could be his guts could be the cane

There’s a lantern swinging in the back yard
He makes his living with a gun and a crow bar
