Anybody Else

I’m not the kind of person to walk out of here intertwined
Time made me learn my lesson that some things are best left behind
Well, I don’t want to come off rude
And I would like to know you better
I could get up and run, and I’m sure we’d have fun
But I do need to be more clever
So let me make it clear before I move
That I’m not here to play the fool
If you pull me near, you better prove
You can be what I need more than anybody else
Sometimes I lose my reason and do things I’d like to forget
Sometimes the fire gets higher and higher, my heart runs away with my head
But I don’t want to waste my youth on someone who won’t stick around
I’m not asking for life, a while would be nice, I’m just trying to be more
clever
Oh I’m not the kind of guy
Who thinks that I know much better
Of course I have fun and I know we’re still young
