The Seasons of Change

A vacant spot resided in me reserved for a certain soul
Entry from the right person meant reaching a prominent goal
When you moved in you decorated with precision and grace
Appealing to both of us so together we’d always have a place
In private quarters our happiness could not reach a limit
Detached from the world we solely desired each other in it
Experiencing this I questioned if it was a hallucination
Discovering holes in a fantasy I began to proceed with caution
Temperatures rose / You melted from the overwhelming heat
Revealing flaws / Making me aware that you were incomplete
Those defects could be remedied with continuous application
Apparently / I wasn’t adequate motivation
I’m now on your list of those who aren’t missed / I can’t subsist
I’m reliving this feeling of being broken / I’m lost in depression
This dread has spread into my head / Corrupted I’ve tread on a trail of
bloodshed
I’m murdered / My visions blurred / It’s absurd / I’m deprived of the prize I
captured
These consequences for disparagement are brutally unfair
I bare full responsibility for my engulfing despair
This is validation my value without you is insignificant
I’m equivalent to a fragment of sand in a desert swept in a torrent
You defined me / You gave me purpose / You offered me reason
My schedule revolved around yours cause I had no where I’d rather be than
Any where you were / Any space that could fit two
I’m declining / You’re rising / I’m yearning for a redo
Trapped in a series of nights / My way has been misplaced / It has strayed
You were my sun that brought me warmth, life, and gorgeous days
A revelation has awoken in this nightmare I need rescuing from
