Snakes

When will my thoughts mellow?
They crawl like snakes upon my pillow
I cannot fall asleep
I sing along with his breath
To fnd my own quietness
But I don’t fall asleep
Of all the nights
Of all dark nights
I’ve never been that small
I walk on a thread
Then I count every step
But I don’t fall asleep
I lock the doors
But still the snakes come through the cracks
Surround me
Crawl up the walls and start to hiss
Of all the nights
Of all dark nights
I’ve never been that small
My mind is placed inside a ball
I try to kick it through the wall
The ball is heavy, hurts my feet
This is my way to fall asleep
