Box for My Organs

I’m scared of who I am
And who I’ve become in the last
Year or two:
A fragile mistake meant to
Cull the herds
Of me
I lost hope
In the backseat of the
First car that I drove to
The places I love
And where I swore I’d never see
I’m growing
Out of fear
That I will be too small to
Live in peace
Without the thought
That I would have to remember—
My body
Is just a mistake:
A simple box for all my organs
To all my closest friends—
I wish you well, I guess
