Already Written

Here I’m somewhere in between these feelings
They come back to me when I’m sound sleeping
How I miss those days
And I know I’m not, I know I’m not done with 'em
There’s things that I started, I still have to finish
But how do I navigate?
And so I’m reaching out to myself
I’m not calling out to anybody else
And I’ve made my peace with the sun
And all we’ve got is what we’ve done
And my heart still skips when your name gets mentioned
My love won’t die, it just changed its intention
And that’s how it will stay
And I’m somewhere in between what I do and what I’m thinking
I want to get it right, I don’t stop believing
But somehow I hesitate
And so I’m reaching out to myself
I’m not calling out to anybody else

I’m never biting my tongue, I’m never great with decisions
Got a lot to be desired but I’ve never asked for permission
Thank God I was raised this way
And I’m somewhere in between what I hear and when I listen
I try to write it down but it’s already written
