We Came As Today

I’m coming out tonight
for the first time in a long while
I’m hoping i’ll be inspired
by never knowing just when I might die
with our hearts set
on the things we’ll give up
we wont complain, no!
and our feelings
wont always be the same
but we’re not changing, no!
I think I now realize
that we’re conditioned to think in straight lines
eventually tomorrow
will come as today but i’ll never know why
(in the back of my mind
it will make sense in no time
in the back of my mind)
