Stripped Down To My Guitar

Light went out all I can see
Is a shell of who I used to be
Can’t get up
I can’t move at all
I can’t find my footing while I’m still in the fall
Can’t take a shower to wash this away
I do anything to just to feel OK
But I pack it down
Won’t let it show
It’s best for me that you just don’t know
Can’t hit new highs unless I push off rock-bottom
I keep on raising the bar
The only progress in my life this far
Has come when I’ve been stripped down to my guitar
Push you away so you can’t see
All of the demons inside of me
If I told you they’d still be here
Why would we think that it would all disappear
It won’t leave me alone
I can’t get away
Trying to accept that it’s here to stay
But pleas go away
