I go driving in my old town
To see my old friends
It reminds me why I felt
So I can leave again
I used to keep a kind of company
But I thought they had to go
I could never tell them why
And they will never know
So that I can feel better
I make it hard on myself
And then if I come to hurt you
I deserve you and not somebody else
I can prove that I deserve you
I had to talk to someone
But isn’t it the way
That the ones who try to help you
Are trying to be saved
And at my lowest ebb
I went by your family home
But I just felt like a creep
Sitting in my car alone
So that I can feel better
I make it hard on myself
Just to show a kind of virtue
That i deserve you
And not somebody else
